When you bring your pet to us for periodontal treatment, we’ll perform a comprehensive exam and take x-rays under anesthesia. This allows us to examine the teeth both above and below the gumline. All patients are closely monitored while under anesthesia and are in excellent hands every step of the way. After a full oral assessment, your veterinarian may recommend dental extraction of diseased teeth. The removal of diseased teeth is necessary to maintain proper dental health moving forward. Preserving teeth (root canal) is performed by a dental specialist, and we are happy to refer you for this option.
