If you are new to pet insurance, please note that it differs from human health insurance. Instead of copays, most pet insurances work through owners submitting receipts and records, and then getting reimbursement. Insurance will only cover certain services, and those services vary by the insurance company. It is best to get pet insurance early, as most pet insurance companies will not cover pre-existing conditions. We advise all pet owners with insurance to also set aside savings for uncovered veterinary care.
